The Delegate List Widget is a powerful, highly customisable tool that allows you to display a targeted list of participants anywhere you can paste an embed code. Whether you want to show a public attendee list or a restricted directory, this widget provides full control over who sees the list, what data is displayed, and how it is sorted.
This guide will walk you through the configuration process from start to finish.
Step 1: Accessing the Configuration Dashboard
To begin building your custom delegate list, navigate to the Delegate List Widget section within your Participantlogic > Database > Delegate List Widget dashboard.
Here, you will see a clean interface divided into logical panels: Filters, Demographic Fields, Sort Display and Security.
Step 2: Applying Filters
The Filters panel allows you to segment your participants so that only specific groups appear on the final list.
Activity: Select a specific activity from the drop-down menu if you only want to display delegates registered for that particular session or event.
Free Field: If you use custom free fields, you can select one here. The system will automatically detect the field type. If it is a predefined list (Drop-down/Radio), a secondary menu will appear allowing you to select the exact value. If it is an open text field, a text box will appear for you to type the matching criteria.
Exclude Categories: Click on the category chips to remove certain participant types from the list. Selected categories will appear as highlighted pills.
Exclude Statuses: Similar to categories, click on any registration status you wish to hide from the final output (e.g., exclude 'Cancelled' or 'Pending' statuses).
Step 3: Defining Display Columns (Demographic Fields Selector)
This section controls exactly which data columns will appear in your generated table, and in what order.
Review the Available Fields column on the left.
Click the Add button next to any field you wish to display (e.g., First Name, Family Name, Company).
The field will move to the Selected Order column on the right.
Reorder: You can easily drag and drop the fields in the 'Selected Order' column using the
::drag handle to arrange how the columns will read from left to right on the final table. If you make a mistake, simply click Remove to send the field back to the available list.
Step 4: Configuring Sort Display
You can pre-define how the list is sorted when a user first loads the page.
Click + Add Sort Level.
Choose the primary Sort Column from the fields you selected in the previous step.
Choose the Sort Direction (ASC for A-Z, DESC for Z-A).
You can add multiple levels (e.g., Sort first by Company ASC, then by Family Name ASC).
End-User Sorting: Ensure the checkbox "Enable end user to sort by any column" is ticked if you want to allow delegates to click the table headers and sort the data themselves.
Step 5: Security and Access Control
This is a critical step. The Security panel dictates who is allowed to view the widget. You will see a checkbox labelled: "Delegate list available publicly?".
Option A: Publicly Available (Checkbox TICKED)
Tick this box if you want your list to be visible to everyone.
The Result: Anyone visiting the web page where the list is placed will be able to see it. It is completely open to the public, and visitors do not need to log into the event platform to view the information.
Option B: Restricted Access (Checkbox UNTICKED)
Leave this box unticked to keep your list private and secure.
The Result: The list will only be visible to delegates who have successfully logged into their profile. (Note: Administrator users within the Shocklogic system will also be able to preview the list).
What happens if someone who isn't logged in tries to view a restricted list? The widget area will simply display a clean "Authentication Required" card, advising the user that the content is restricted. The rest of the parent web page remains entirely unaffected.
Step 6: Saving and Generating the Embed Code
Once you are happy with your configuration:
Click the Save button at the bottom right.
A success alert will appear at the top of the screen.
Scroll down to the newly revealed Widget Embed Code panel.
Click the Copy icon next to the generated HTML iframe code.
Where to paste the code
You can embed the delegate list wherever you need it most. Just paste the copied code into any standard text editor (such as Abstractlogic > Profile Parameters > Webinar Profile)
